My Council Tax bill is showing over 10 months. Can I pay 12 months instead?
Yes, if you contact us by 9 April you can set up a Direct Debit to start from 25th of the month, and you can have payments over 12 months.
If you would prefer another date of the 1st, 7th or 14th, we can only calculate this over 11 months, as we will not be able to get the Direct Debit instruction to the bank in time.
Or you can make a card payment for the April instalment instead.
Call us on 0300 123 2224 so we can set this up for you.

My Council Tax bill shows I am in credit. Can I have a refund?
Yes, you can be refunded if your bill shows you are in credit.
However, any payments made in addition to your monthly liability will reduce your instalments for the remainder of the financial year and not produce a credit.
If you pay your Council Tax account by Direct Debit, any credit due to you will be refunded automatically to the bank account used to make your payments.
If you pay your Council Tax by any other means, for example on our website or over the telephone with one of our advisors, you will need to make a claim using the refund form within your My Account area.
You need to have a My Account with upgraded access in order to complete the form. If you already have a basic account, sign in to request upgraded access. If you do not have an account, register now.
