What to do if your refuse, recycling or garden waste collection is missed
If your recycling collection is missed you can find some ideas on how to manage your recycling here - www.somersetwaste.gov.uk/what-to-do-with-recycling-if-your-collection-is-delayed
Please report any missed collections online and Somerset Waste Partnership will do their best to collect them as soon as they can, within two days wherever possible.
Refuse - Will be returned for within two working days. Make sure you leave it out in the usual place.
Recycling - If they cannot get back within two days, they will return on your next scheduled collection day the following week.
Garden Waste - Garden waste collections will resume on your usual day in the fortnight commencing Monday 13 September. Find out your collection day here.
For missed collections, do not put garden waste into rubbish or recycling containers as they will not be collected. Do not overfill garden waste bins; your bin will not be collected. Instead:
- Recycle sites: All 16 Somerset recycle sites take garden waste. Full details, including opening hours. The quieter times at recycle sites are generally weekdays 1-2pm and 3-6pm.
- Compost: More on home composting, including a subsidised bin offer.
- Reduce: Mow and prune less this summer.
- Mulch: Use grass cuttings to retain moisture and reduce weeds.
